Tiger Woods 1 Shot off Lead Headed for Sunday – GolfBlogger.co.uk

Tiger Woods trailing by one stroke going into the final round used to mean an easy win was soon to come. This Sunday, who knows?

But Wood is sure to give the Valspar Championship its greatest ratings of all time because he’s a single stroke off the lead heading into Sunday.

To win, he’ll have to recall the great killer instinct that made him one of the greatest players of all time, but also catch rookie Corey Connors (-9).

“I’m excited,”  Woods said. “I’ve been ready to go. I’m excited to play. It’s going to be fun, lot of fun, and these [fans] have been great. They’ve been fired up, and it’s exciting for all of us.”

Woods isn’t the only one chasing Connors. He’s tied for second with Justin Rose and Brandt Snedeker.

Connors shot a 68 on Saturday. He is the only player in the field to shoot three sub-70 rounds this weekend. He was 3-under through  4 holes and was ahead by two strokes until he bogeyed 16.

Rose shot a 5-under on Saturday and was 4-under on the back nine with an eagle and two birdies.

Woods had the crowd’s backing as he went 3-under on the front nine. His ony stumble was a bogey on No. 14.
