You set them up and Justin Thomas will keep knocking them out the park. This time he’s roasting Talor Gooch for his Ryder Cup comments
Everyone was left scratching their heads when Talor Gooch compared the atmosphere at LIV Golf Portland to the Ryder Cup during a bizarre post-round interview – despite having never competed in the biennial competition…
“I haven’t played a Ryder Cup or Presidents Cup,” Gooch said. “But I can’t imagine there’s a whole lot of difference.”
Dustin Johnson had to look away after the comical claim as the golf world proceeded to roast Gooch all over social media. Heck, even Wikipedia got involved:
Never one to shy away from a bit of banter – or stand up against the on-going controversies of LIV Golf – Justin Thomas then couldn’t resist getting in on the act, mocking Gooch with a hilarious one-liner during the JP McManus Pro-Am at Adare Manor.
“I’m just blown away by what today is and what this weekend and week has been,” Thomas told Sky Sports.
“It’s going to be impeccable. The golf course is beautiful, seems like it’s great for spectators. I mean, it feels pretty close to a Ryder Cup today.”
Burn.
As much as JT has been loving the Irish crowds – he even shared a post-round Guinness with the locals after playing at Tralee – we think it’s pretty obvious what the PGA champ was getting at with this one…
