FootJoy Women’s Full-Zip Hoodie review: First Impressions

Getting your hands on a women’s golf hoodie is a near impossible feat so my interest was quickly piqued when FootJoy unveiled this as part of their new Women’s Autumn Winter apparel collection.

It is really nice to see some women’s golf attire offering contemporary styling and detailing that is unique. I like the fact this is not just a plain grey hoodie and I think the added pop of colour in the hood and in the pattern on the front really add to this.

I am 5ft 4, and wear a UK size 10 top. The medium size fitted very nicely if anything slightly on the loose side.

Straight away you can feel how soft and comfortable this hoodie is. I love the french terry knit fabric FootJoy has used as it is really thick and warm which is perfect for winter golf. It also doesn’t crease easily so stays smart even if you need to take it on and off during the round.

The fabric is made from a four-way stretch material which means it provides great range of movement and doesn’t restrict the golf swing at all.

I like the fact there are open pockets as it is easy to keep your hands warm throughout the round. Some may prefer zips to keep tees and such enclosed but I generally prefer to put them in my trouser pockets.

I have to admit initially I was hesitant about the full-zip design. In the past when I have worn jackets with this type of design, the front often has a tendency to roll up and can get in the way of your arms in the swing. I didn’t experience this with this hoodie at all, perhaps down to the double zip design.

The casual nature of this makes it a really versatile piece of women’s apparel. It is definitely not something that is restricted to just wearing for golf. Already I have worn it to the gym and would happily wear it out and about when I’m not golfing.

My only criticism would be that the grey colour isn’t overly easy to pair with the rest of their apparel range which features lots of navy. It would be great if there was grey or even pink bottoms to match this.
