FootJoy Women’s Jersey Quilted Mid-Layer review: First Impressions

The Jersey Quilted Mid-Layer has a really nice casual styling, it is very unique as it offers mid-layer warmth in a polo-style piece of kit. The fabric structure and pattern offer a striking overall look. While the structure is simple and modern the patterning gives a nod to golf’s traditional styling. The contrasting colour details around the collar and wrists are another nice touch.

FootJoy Women’s Jersey Quilted Mid-Layer review: On The Course

I am 5ft 4, and wear a UK size 10 top, I found the medium size fitted very nicely. The thing I instantly liked about this was how thick and warm the quilted fabric is making this ideal for chilly days out on the course. It gives you the warm, comforting feeling you get from a cosy hoodie. You also don’t need to worry about overheating or sweating thanks to moisture-wicking technology that draws moisture away from the body.

I found this mid-layer really easy to swing in and the stretch of the fabric meant my swing wasn’t restricted at all. The front pocket is one open channel and is mainly designed to keep your hands warm. This works well, but means it isn’t the best for storage as tees can fly out while you are hitting shots.

The snap buttons are slightly fiddlier to close than a zip but the buttons mean the collar sits much more comfortable around the neck and doesn’t end up uncomfortably covering your face. I like the fact you can have this open, or close it up and get a snood like effect

The fabric is ideal as it doesn’t wrinkle easily so it will still look smart after its been hidden in the bottom of your golf bag for a week.

FootJoy Women’s Jersey Quilted Mid-Layer review: The 19th hole

This is probably the piece with the most traditional golf styling in the range. Although I love this for out on the course and think it offers something unique and different, I don’t think it will get much use off the golf course by me. Having said that, when the weather gets really cold, it could be great to pop under a coat to keep you warm.
