He did what?! Patrick Reed reacts to Rory McIlroy snub in the funniest way possible

Patrick Reed took matters into his own hands when his old Ryder Cup foe Rory McIlroy reportedly gave him the cold shoulder in Dubai

Forget birthday-gate, because there’s been a new drama in the LIV Golf vs DP World Tour war after Patrick Reed reportedly threw a tee at Rory McIlroy after the World No 1 snubbed the controversial American.

Yep, you really read that correctly.

As the two men prepare to face off at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, Reed was spotted launching a peg towards his old Ryder Cup rival in apparent disgust – faux or otherwise – after McIlroy ignored his greetings.

According to Spanish outlet Ten Golf – and in the ultimate case of “please let this be true” – the incident occurred after Reed stood near McIlroy on the practice area at Emirates Golf Club, seemingly with all the good intentions of clearing the air.

But with McIlroy continuing to lead the charge in the PGA Tour’s fight against the rebel league, and with Reed being, well, who he is, the four-time major champion apparently didn’t entertain his former foe.

Hurt by the snub, Reed gave up his efforts of goodwill and walked away from McIlroy, but not before grabbing a tee from his pocket and launching it at him. Oh boy.

Reed, who has continued to play in DP World Tour events as he awaits February’s court case – one which will determine whether LIV golfers are banned from the circuit – is currently seeking legal action against a plethora of media outlets and journalists over a series of defamation claims.

Over in the blue corner, McIlroy has then continued to speak out against LIV golfers teeing up on the European Tour, previously stating it “doesn’t sit right with me” seeing them compete.

While we’re yet know if this story is 100 per cent true, it wouldn’t be the first time vocal members from golf’s civil war appeared to locked horns at a DP World Tour event .

Back at the BMW PGA Championship in September – which we’ve now decided to coin the ‘War at Wentworth’, Ian Poulter and Billy Horschel were spotted in deep discussion on the putting green by yours truly as tempers continued to flare over LIV golfers playing in Surrey.

As for the reported incident between McIlroy and Reed, we’ll now await to see whether anyone was sharp enough to capture this incident in a similar manner as talk of the clash no doubt gets set to go viral.
