Gareth Bale played in his first golf tournament at the Peeble Beach Pro-Am. The former Tottenham and Real Madrid star announced his retirement from football and his intention to pursue a different career path. Bale won 22 trophies in his football career and established himself as a key player everywhere he played, including on the international scene for Wales.
Bale announced that he would be venturing into gold after retiring from playing professional football. Many football fans including those who wager at sports betting with Maple Casino argued that he should have played football for a few more years. Nonetheless, the best dancers know when to leave the stage, and Bale is probably one of them, right?
Bale’s Golf Debut
Bale was back in the limelight after retiring from football when he was seen playing at the Peeble Beach Pro-AM golf tournament in California. However, this was not the first time he was seen playing golf as the Walsh international started playing golf when he was still in Madrid.
But, retirement allows him to have more time to pursue his passion for golf. In the Pebble Beach Pro-AM tournament, Bale was partnered with professional golfer Joseph Bramlett and the pair finished the tournament at 16 under par.
Bale and his partner narrowly missed the chance to play in the final round of the competition. After that, Bale revealed that he had enjoyed an amazing time preparing for the tournament. He also claimed that the compliments he received from people put some pressure on his shoulders as he went into the tournament.
Additionally, Bale reiterated his love for golf and appreciation for other golfers. He was also full of praise for his partner Bramlett claiming that he is an incredible golfer and an even better person. Moreover, Bale stated that he couldn’t have asked for a better partner.
The Highlights
The highlight of Bale’s first PGA Tour came two holes in after he had played a great chip shot from a cart path. Bale found himself out of position and bumped his attempt from the path into the bank of green before the ball rolled a few feet from the hole.
Although his pro partner Bramlett was already in for par, the American pro golfer made Bale putt out his unbelievable pitch. Bale also claimed that he was worried about how he found himself on the path in the first place. However, he consoled himself that many amateurs find themselves in that position more often than not.
The debutant also revealed that he tried to play into the bank, hoping for the best. Luckily, his wild attempt paid off as the ball rolled up nicely close to the hole.
What Does the Future Hold for Golfing Bale?
That was a promising start for Bale in his new endeavor. He is already used to competing at the highest levels in football and only needs to hone his golf skills. Furthermore, his comments after the first experience show he is willing to learn from the best golfers, such as his partner, Bramlett.
If he keeps his head down, continues to enjoy the game, and takes his development in stride, nothing will stop him from rising to the top. What are your thoughts?
