This is another great waterproof jacket from Ping which ticks all the boxes. It is one of the most comfortable waterproof jackets I have owned, with a great range of movement for swinging.

First Impressions
As soon as I opened this I loved the styling and that it wasn’t another plain black waterproof jacket. The block black and white design with subtle, intricate detailing gives this a really unique feel.
Ping have done a great job of giving this a flattering, more slim-lined shape but still maintaining good freedom of movement throughout your swing.
On Course Testing
I am 5ft 4, and wear a UK size 10 top, I found the medium size fitted very well, even with a thin jumper underneath. If you did want to layer up more, though, I would recommend going up a size.
One of the first things I loved about this jacket is the fact there are additional linings inside the sleeves around the wrists.
I really don’t like having baggy waterproof jacket sleeves loose when I am addressing the ball and swinging, as I feel like they are in the way. Ping get around this by having the slimmer internal liners, which keep you warm but aren’t baggy and in the way.
I used this for practice sessions and numerous times on the golf course. For me, lots of waterproof jackets only see the light of day in the rain due to comfort and restriction of movement. This couldn’t be further from the truth with this Jayda jacket from Ping. I have found it to be much more versatile and a go-to outerwear piece for me on numerous occasions.
Regarding the waterproofing, this jacket is fully seam sealed to stop any water getting in. I have worn this is some of the worst English winter weather, and it has held up very nicely every time. The extra seam seals around the pockets work exceptionally well to keep the contents dry, even if they are slightly fiddlier to open and close. If you’re worried about this jacket leaking, it has a 3-year waterproof guarantee to ease your mind.
The fabric used by Ping is ideal as it doesn’t wrinkle easily, so it still looks smart after it’s been hidden in the bottom of your golf bag for a week.
The 19th hole
A waterproof jacket will invariably mainly be used on the golf course, but because of the modern casual styling, I do think you could get use of this for a variety of activities.
