What are they teaching these kids in school? More importantly, do you think the reaction has been blown out of proportion?
You know what they say about rules controversies in college golf matches: You wait ages for one, then two come along at the same time.
It was just a matter of days ago when one golfer at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove made social media explode with an apparent etiquette breach.
You can watch that particular incident here – but hurry back because this one’s a doozy, too.
But now we have another player, who appears to be playing the same event, virtually standing on the hole with her playing partners yet to hit their short putts.
Once again, the clip has gone viral and sparked outrage among fans and players alike. As a collective, we just love getting angry about things, don’t we?
“Parents maybe partly to blame but the school/college too,” DP World Tour player Ross Fisher commented. “Rule 1 you learn when playing golf is etiquette. Maybe it’s far lower down their list.”
“I’m pretty sure they don’t think about the through line,” former Women’s Open champion Karen Stupples added. “I know a number of players that once they hit the LPGA they were educated quickly. I certainly didn’t know but Aim Point wasn’t a thing back then.”
