Tree falls at Augusta National during Masters weather delay

Troubling images were released of a fallen tree during a weather delay in the second round at Augusta

A tree has collapsed near the 17th hole at Augusta National after severe weather conditions delayed play again at the Masters.

The tree fell between the 16th green and 17th tee as the group of Sergio Garcia, Keith Mitchell and Kazuki Higa putted out on the par-3.

Inclement weather has delayed play not once but twice at Augusta National on Friday, with the second round likely to eat into Saturday’s schedule.

NCG reached out to Augusta National for information, and they confirmed no one was hurt in the incident.

For now, with heavy rain setting in and the clear up just underway, it looks unlikely there will be any more play on Friday.
