PowaKaddy CT8 GPS: NCG Review

I have been using this trolley for over a year now and I love the performance. I have used it on flat courses, hilly courses and it dry and wet conditions and it always works perfectly.

If you are conscious about space, this is the perfect model. The 2-step folding method allows the trolley to fold down extremely small. If you choose to invert the wheels, this model ends up barely bigger than a rucksack and I found it could easily fit in a foot well in my car.

I really like the fact they have still made this simple to use and managed such space savings. The areas highlighted in yellow are release latches used to open and close the trolley. The fact they are bright yellow makes it really easy to know which areas to press and keeps the process quick and simple.

I travel for golf a lot and often have a few people in the car, so having a compact trolley is really important to me and find this is a perfect option for space saving.

PowaKaddy’s Plug ‘n’ Play battery is featured in all of the FX and CT models, you can choose between a 18-hole and 36-hole battery when purchasing. The lightweight battery is very compact and sits nicely in the frame. An added button allows you to turn the battery on and off, which is ideal if you want to leave the battery in whilst the trolley is folded up.

The GPS function on the CT8 GPS electric trolley is exceptional and really easy to use. It comes preloaded with over 40,000 courses worldwide so you nearly always have access to data out on the golf course.

The first screen displays distances to the front, middle and back of the green. It also has a drop pin feature so you can see the distances to a specific pin location. I love having these yardages so close to hand especially on holes with blind shots to greens.

Next you can get distances to any hazards on the hole. I really like how each bunker is labelled so you can more information on its location. For example a right fairway bunker (RFB) or a left greenside bunker (LGB). I also really like the fact there is no annual fees or subscriptions to get this data which gives you more value for your money.

After this you have options on screen to measure the length of your shots and also to mark a digital scorecard as you go around the golf course.

I really like having the golf GPS integrated into the trolley handle as it is so convenient for getting fast and accurate distances throughout your round.

Aside from the big features PowaKaddy do a great job with the little details. Even the button has been designed so you can’t accidentally set the trolley off if you hit it with your club or body. You have to press exactly in the centre to get the trolley to go.

There are a series of accessories you can buy to add to the trolley should you wish. I chose to go for the umbrella holder, but there are other options such as drinks and scorecard holders too.

I have been really impressed with the endurance too as this almost looks brand new over a year on from my initial testing.

Final thoughts

Overall this is a great trolley and has become my go-to trolley anytime I head out to the golf course, I am not sure I can give something a bigger compliment than that.
